Acute Care
In our acute care setting, patients can receive active but short-term treatment for a severe injury or episode of illness or for an urgent medical condition. Acute care can also be the day to day health care delivered by and overseen by a health care provider.
Progressive Care
At Pioneer Medical Center, patients who no longer require acute services but are in need of additional short term rehabilitation and/or skilled nursing care may be eligible for swing bed services. This service often bridges the gap for patient who no longer need acute care but do require rehabilitative services prior to their discharge to their home. Swing care usually involves a multi-disciplinary approach, such as occupational and speech therapy, that puts the patient back on the road to independence.
