LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - HOSPITAL (Full Time)

Pioneer Medical Center is seeking a full-time and/or part-time LPN/LVN to join our hospital patient care team. We are, essentially, the county hospital for Sweet Grass County, Montana. We are in a beautiful valley along the Yellowstone River, between three mountain ranges, just north of Yellowstone National Park. We serve our neighbors (ranchers, miners, tradespeople and retirees) and the many tourists who come here on their way to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, or to fish the Yellowstone, hike, bike, hunt or just get away from overcrowded other places. The Job Description:

Under general supervision of the, Director and/or as delegated by the Registered Nurse, assists in the delivery of patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, and theoretical/clinical skills in the promotion/maintenance of health. Incorporates evidence-based nursing practices consistent with national standards and which support quality outcomes. Works collaboratively with the RN to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, spiritual needs of the patient and family, and contributes to the plan of care while maintaining professionalism.

DESCRIPTION

1.

Provides nursing care by performing basic to semi-complex treatments as delegated by the RN. Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry into patient medical record as indicated by patient condition and documentation guidelines, consistent with departmental policies and procedures.

Observes patients for physical and emotional reactions to medications and treatments, reporting any irregularities to appropriate medical and/or other nursing personnel.

5.

Adheres to facility safety standards, policies, and practices. Anticipates and identifies problems and safety issues, then initiates appropriate action.

Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance

Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development needs; meets all system and departmental educational requirements.

8.

Consideration is given to the appropriateness of care based on the population specific needs of the patient including age appropriate and cultural needs.

Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of patient care.
