The Dietary Aide II performs a variety of tasks that facilitate the provision of food services and nutrition support to patients, employees and visitors.





  1. Supports and models individual behavior consistent with the mission, vision and values of Pioneer Medical Center.
  2. Demonstrates commitment to customer service by:

  5. Performs routine duties related to preparation and serving of food.
  6. Prepares food in a clean and sanitary manner.
  7. Operates dish machine and assists in washing pots and pans in 3 compartment sink to clean and sanitize dishes.
  8. Records and monitors proper temperature of dish machine and proper concentration of sanitizer solution.
  9. Completes training to become a Certified Feeding Assistant and helps feed residents.
  10. Prepares dining area for meal service and ensures dining area is properly cleaned after meals.
  11. Assembles trays following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
  12. Assists cook in preparing special orders, plating desserts and salads as needed.
  13. Keeps working environment clean and in sanitary condition.
  14. Performs clerical, stocking, cleaning and inventory duties as assigned.
  15. May assist with checking in and putting away deliveries.
  16. Assists in training new dietary personnel.



  1. Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment.
  2. Ability to recognize how they can help others to meet the department’s efficiency needs.
  3. Ability to read and write.



  1. Lift a maximum of 50 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying up to 15 lbs.
  2. Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching, talking and hearing.
  3. Occasional sitting, pushing and pulling.



  1. Ability to read and write.
  2. Good personal hygiene.



  1. Environmental exposure to weather, extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, dust, vapors, fumes and odors.
  2. Required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
